Guns ’n’ Hoses – A competitive boxing tournament for local charities.
Hosted by the Omaha Police Officer’s Association (OPOA) and the Omaha Professional Firefighter’s Association (IAFF Local 385) – local members of the Omaha Police Department and Omaha Firefighters will face off in the boxing ring for charity.
By coming together for a great cause, members of the OPOA and IAFF Local 385 know they can make a bigger impact in our community.
“We hope everyone will come out to support us during this exciting event to raise money for local charities,” said Anthony Conner, OPOA President and Trevor Towey, IAFF Local 385 President. “These programs and organizations are truly making a difference and helping many individuals living in our community.”
About OPOA: Since 1934, the Omaha Police Officers Association has been dedicated to representing the professional men and women of the Omaha Police Department who protect and serve Omaha. They are committed to partnering with our community and city leaders to make Omaha a safer place and maintain it as a great city to live, work and raise a family.
About IAFF: The Omaha Professional Firefighters Association, IAFF 385 serves the Omaha community and metro area tirelessly, committing to make the community as safe as possible with the highest integrity. These firefighters are there for everyone, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Shop with a Cop
Designed to unite Omaha police officers and public safety employees with local disadvantaged children for a special day of shopping – each child who participates in the program is guaranteed new shoes, several clothing outfits and a few toys for under their Christmas tree.

Focused on increasing the qualified workforce in Nebraska by creating opportunities for individuals to gain exposure to careers in the trades through their unique programs – the NCWDE is addressing the skill gap in Nebraska’s workforce and supporting the infrastructure of the State of Nebraska.
